Disoriented is a game where you simply (and by simply, I mean not simply at all) reach the exit. You'll have to keep track of your orientation and manipulate the objects around you in order to reach it.There's a solid 24 levels as of right now, and the game gets progressively harder as you continue on, unless the game enters a level where you learn to use a new mechanic. The game starts off pretty basic, but the later levels will surely have you turned around, thinking of any and all possibilites you can take in order to reach the goal. The game is also accompanied by a very peaceful soundtrack. Overall, even if the game is a little short (I beat it in 2 sittings), this is a fun, relaxing, and very solid puzzle game.. You think Portal is too easy? If you want a real headache this game is for you!. 6.5/10Minimalist little game (graphics and audio), the puzzles are good but not outstanding. This is not difficult but it can be tedious; It's still nice and yes you will feel 'disoriented'.The fail about useless achievements and the resets was unfortunate but this is fixed now.. A 3d puzzle where you can standing sideways, upside down relative to when the level started. Trying to figure where you are and how to get to where you want to be. At 99 cents you can't go wrong. Only problem I've had is several head slapping "DOH"!! moments when I realise I've been looking through the solution and not seeing it.. That one scene in Inception, this game is all about that one scene.. Where am I lol?Jokes aside, its not worth 4€, but for 1-2€ its ok...I wished there would be a "Neutral"- button, but since there is none, I rate it as positive.. Decent game with a few flaws. I wish I could remap controller buttons because they are crippling. WASD is not my preferred control scheme for first person puzzle games. The puzzles are challenging but the difficulty curve ramps up a little too quickly. I ended up using guides. It's not a long game but that isn't a bad thing.. Appropriately named, Disoriented is a thoroughly confusing puzzle platformer. The thought process becomes more and more demanding, especially approaching the last few of the 30 total levels. So much so it borders on frustration. Not only is it required to grasp the 3D spatial shifts, the puzzles also force the player to memorise the moving platforms and their respective switches. The game looks a lot like Antichamber with its basic black and white rendering and some sparse drops of colour. These few drops prove to be quite important for the puzzles. The interactive spots, i.e. switches, buttons and portals, are small and look the same. However, some otherwise irrelevant plants with differing colours are placed in fixed positions and can be an immense help when it comes to recognising and tracing the structure of the level. What makes the puzzles even more intricate is the fact that the platforming part also encompasses routes taken off the beam paths. While jumping up or across the beams isn't possible, dropping down is frequently, if not most of the time, a major part of the solution.Disoriented is trickier than expected. It doesn't strictly follow the usual puzzle conventions and offers exercise to agonise over.. In short: This is a novel gravity-driven platform-puzzler with smart level design, which rewards formulating plans and thinking ahead. The soothing atmosphere and great interface make it highly enjoyable to play. The pricing more than adequately reflects the total playtime of 3-4 hours. In long: Your task is to navigate the floating structures of each of the 30 levels in first-person perspective until you reach the door at the end. Walking across curved ramps seamlessly changes gravity. At first the main mechanics are just these ramps and dropping off ledges. Later on knobs to rotate some structures, switches that toggle between light and dark platforms and portals are introduced. These very simple elements are assembled beautifully into complex challenges.Despite its name I actually didn't find gameplay to be all too disorienting. At any point you can enter view mode, which puts you into third person and allows you to freely rotate the camera. It didn't feel all that useful until I realized you can zoom out with mouse wheel, which gives you pretty much a perfect view of the whole level. You can use this mode to plan your actions, which is an increasingly important aspect as the levels get harder. Since you can and often have to walk off edges, you can totally screw yourself by falling onto a platform from which you cannot escape. This is thankfully mitigated by a brilliant feature allowing you to manually checkpoint whenever you want. When used smartly (i.e. only when you know you're on the right track) you never have to restart a level. Still, this is not a game for mindless trial and error. It pays to pause, really think about a level, calmy formulate a plan and to mentally map out the effects of the various switches in case you need them later on.With respects to the difficulty the game is not overly hard. The first 10 levels are pretty straight-forward before it admittedly starts getting a bit mind-bendy. While levels might look daunting (the store page screenshots seem to be the most confusing and crowded angles - these levels look simpler in-game), usually the solutions follow a linear path. Complexity does increase, but there are never more than 1 or 2 sensible next steps to actually advance, so I never felt overwhelmed. The hardest steps to figure out are the times when you have to drop down, since there is no obvious indication when to use this mechanic. But once I got used to the "language" of the game, it felt like everything had a fairly logical flow. The first 15 levels took me about 50min. I don't know the exact reason, but level 23 gave me considerable difficulty and took me 25min to beat. Everything else was much easier, with later levels ranging from 5-12min. Beating the game on my first play-through took me a little over 3 hours. With just 30 levels the game does feel a bit short, but all the levels are well designed and none felt like filler. I could see myself maybe going back to this game after a few years. In terms of presentation I would put the game above average. The artsy minimalist low-fi graphics certainly aren't for everyone but after playing for a little while I grew quite fond of them. They're clean and functional. I think it would have been very easy to make this look much worse with texures. There is a nice low-key ambient music through-out. I normally don't like background music in puzzle games, but here it turned out to be really pleasant. The sound effects are decent as well. It all contributes to a very calming, zen-like atmosphere. On the technical side I was very impressed by the game's low hardware demands. Even though it's a 3D game it runs perfectly on my integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics chip, even with antialiasing. The menu options are truly exemplary: Separate volume sliders with a master slider on top, various graphical options including FOV, mouse sensitivity slider, customizable keyboard controls - I love everything about this! The game starts in full-screen but windowed mode is available. The window is resized by dragging on the edges and the size is remembered across sessions. Well done!In conclusion I had a lot of fun with this non-conventional puzzle game. The interface and menus are a delight. The levels themselves are interesting and challenging, complex but never overwhelming. I enjoyed mapping out my routes in third person camera mode and then executing them in first person. I'm pretty sure that I never actually deviated from intended solutions, but making precarious drops and touching buttons around corners gave a nice tingly feeling of maybe breaking the rules of the game. The atmosphere is nicely calming. 30 levels of unique content for a playtime of a little over 3 hours is a bit short, but perfectly adequate for the asking price (especially on sale). I can definitely recommend this game for fans of puzzles, rational planning and spatial thinking.. This Developer and Publisher is Pioneer in Steam Scam Achievement Unlocker and later on Erasing it. Both a Scamster and later a FRAUD. Added and Erased 600 Blank Achievements for just launching the game. After having made enough money from selling to those who bought it for achievements, later Erased those 600 Blank Achievements to sell to those who would have not bought because of its achievement scam. This developer exploited steam Achievements feature to gain sales and popularity which it lacked prior to this. However good or bad the Gameplay is by itself, I cant support these kind of Backstabbing Double Agents of his supporters.I request Valve's Steam regulators to put an end to these Achievements erasing fraud by developers. There should be capping the modification related reduction of Achievements to maximum three attempts but not exceeding 10 % of Games total already available achievements.
